What Is Emotional Coaching?

We represent a new breed of Coaches who specialise in helping clients maximise their happiness and wellbeing through better understanding and better managing their emotional health and hygiene.

Our role as Emotional Coach is to provide insight, practical advice and general support to help you effect long term change to your 'lens' and therefore life.

Emotional Health & Hygiene

150 years ago in the developed world we started to use science to better understand and better manage our physiological health and hygiene. As a result of this investment, our life expectancy has increased by over 40%.

It does not take a genius therefore to recognise that quality of life can rise just as dramatically if we start to understand and better manage our emotional health and hygiene.

Focussing on and investing in living an emotionally healthier life is a key for living a happier life - and the happier we are, the better we perform in everything we do.

The 5 Principles Of Coaching

We are big fans of James Flaherty's 5 Principles:

1. We are not problem people - we simply experience problem thoughts, feelings and behaviours.

2. We all possess innate resources to help us achieve our goals.

3. All of our actions are carried out with positive intentions (for ourselves anyway).

4. Unless we quite literally stop living, change is inevitable - we are in a permanent state of change.

5. We will always seek to choose the best option for the scenario presented.

These 5 points provide a wonderful framework from which to undertake Emotional Coaching.

Versus traditional psychotherapy, clinical hypnotherapy can be a more direct and potentially authentic means to heal old emotional injuries and change long term beliefs and perspectives.


Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is a form of psychotherapy that emphasises the important role of critical thinking in how we feel and behave. CBT focuses on changing current thoughts and feelings rather than the past.

1 - 4

Our sessions last up to 2 hours. For some clients change comes a little quicker than for others - but for most clients we would expect to see them between 1 and 4 times. We work on a strictly session by session basis.

We charge £250 per hour (inc VAT). In most cases payment is due at the end of the session by card or bank transfer. Where we deem appropriate and where we can, we are happy to provide flexible payment terms.

Cancellation Policy

Please be aware that your booking is subject to a rigid 24 hour cancellation / rearrangement policy. If we do not receive a minimum of 24 hours notice of a cancellation or re-arrangement, we reserve the right to charge for the appointment in full. For Monday appointments, because we do not work at the weekends, the deadline for informing us for a cancellation and / or rearrangement is the preceding Friday at 9am. We will always be sensitive to clients needs and if we can change appointments around to avoid charging, which we usually can, we will.


No client financial information is stored by The Therapy Lounge. This includes any credit or debit card details. Client email addresses are held solely for the purpose of communicating directly with a client regarding their specific treatment or for our own marketing purposes. Email addresses or any other personal information are not passed to any third party or partner for marketing purposes. Client notes are stored in paper form only and only by the therapist you are working with. As a matter of course, they will destroyed after a reasonable amount of time has passed.


Other than for smoking cessation, we do not offer any guarantees. As you will have seen via Trustpilot, our approach proves remarkably effective so if you come to us with a real determination to succeed, you'll have an excellent chance of rapidly achieving your goal.

Suite 8.7, Central House, 1 Ballards Lane, London, N3 1 LQ. The office is opposite Finchley Central Tube on the Barnet Branch of The Northern Line. There is plenty of street parking and the Tube car park - all at a small cost - or the Tesco car park is free :)
