By way of background, the reason why 40% of the UK adult population is overweight is because as a species we have learned to use food as a means to change our feelings.
Indeed, most of our clients’ weight problems emanate from the fact that they eat when they are bored, lonely, miserable, stressed, angry or any number of other emotional scenarios, NONE of which have anything to do with physical hunger.
We all have a propensity to bury our feelings in food, but if we eat because of emotional hunger, our bodies will never feel satisfied because no amount of food is going to change the way we feel – ultimately, it will only end up making us feel worse.
Through our results orientated approach, we’ll help you revert to the way you were designed to be, where food, whilst still being enjoyed, holds little emotional value beyond being fuel for the body.
This approach is obviously very different from the all too frequent diet feast, diet feast, diet feast…..
The truth is that most diets are based on restricting the food intake, or at least an aspect of it. One will limit carbs, another will limit fats, another will focus on eating at specific intervals or times of day and so on.
But that’s exactly where the problem lies – relying solely on restriction does not deal with the underlying issue of why people over eat and as a result, the diet becomes a constant struggle.
And then once we are off the diet we return to our old (habitual) eating habits and behaviours and the next thing we know, all the weight we previously lost is piling back on.
To be precise, studies show that only around 5% of diets are successful in the medium to long term!
The reason why Clinical Hypnotherapy and Neuro Linguistic Programming are scientifically proven to be a genuinely effective long term weight loss solutions is because they change our relationship with food so that instead of feeling denial, we feel great!
