Below are some Frequently Asked Questions. We hope they help.
Please feel free to email us any further questions you might have or suggestion any new questions we can answer below.
Between the three of us we have over 35 years experience working full time helping clients achieve positive change. That translates into about 9,000 clients! For more information about each of therapists For more information click here.
The simple answer is no! Whilst Kirsten uses more Hypnotherapy and NLP with various tools focussed around regression (more of a psycho dynamic approach to therapy), Steve uses more of a logical and rational approach using something called Rational Emotive Behavioural Therapy (CBT but with go faster stripes!) together with hypnotherapy and NLP. And because both had a hand in training Danny - he can use a combination of the two!
During your telephone consultation, we will ask some questions that will help us suggest a therapist who will be best for you.
Whilst this is incredible unlikely (we like to think we are all very clickable!) we see that as our problem and not yours. So if you walk out of your first session without a sense of confidence that you are working with the right therapist in the right way, we will transfer you to another therapist for a full session on us.
We believe in ongoing training and skills development and we work hard to continually evolve our techniques and abilities to help clients' change. We are all members of the UK's leading Hypnotherapy Association, the GHR .
Sadly we do not offer any guarantees, however at the outset we agree clearly defined goals and discuss the chances of success. Our approach proves remarkably effective with most clients and if you come to us with a real determination to succeed, you'll have an excellent chance of achieving your goal.
The number of sessions depends on the issue or issues you wish to work on. Smoking cessation or a fear of flying for example usually only takes 1 session only as do a number of other based phobia treatments. For issues such as weight loss, confidence or addiction, we may wish to see you between 2 and 4 times.
Our sessions generally last 2 hours. We have always found that one 2 hour session can be far more effective than two 1 hour sessions. This is because in one hour session we find we we often have to stop at a pretty critical time. We also find that over two hours we can help a client create an awful lot more positive momentum.
Sessions cost anything from £220 up to £350 per two-hour session depending on the seniority and location of the therapist. Smoking cessation is charged at £485 - a one off fee that includes a one year guarantee!
Payment for a session is due at the end of the session by card, bank transfer or cash. For first appointments for new clients, we ask for a debit or credit card number and take a £1 pre-authorisation - this is in support of our cancellation policy - see below.
Our business is based on charging clients for the time we spend with them and because we want to always ensure we are bright-eyed and bushy-tailed for every client session, we only see a maximum of 3 clients each per day, 5 days a week. With only a limited number of appointments a week, it is important that these appointments are filled because an infilled slot literally costs us money. So, please be aware that your booking is subject to a rigid 36 hour cancellation / rearrangement policy. If we do not receive a minimum of 36 hours notice of a cancellation or re-arrangement, we reserve the right to charge for the appointment in full. If we have taken a £1 pre-authorisation on your debit or credit card for the first session, we reserve the right to use these card details to charge for the appointment via PayPal. If we have not taken a pre-authorisation, we will raise an invoice and email it accordingly. For Monday appointments, because we do not make calls at the weekends, the deadline for informing us for a cancellation and / or rearrangement is the preceding Friday at 9am. We will always be sensitive to clients needs and if we can change appointments around to avoid charging, which we usually can, we always will.
Hypnosis is the induction of a very natural but altered state of consciousness in which a person is highly responsive to suggestion, metaphor or direction.
Hypnotherapy is the use of Hypnosis for emotional and behavioural change work. All Hypnotherapy employs Hypnosis; but not all Hypnosis is Hypnotherapy! Additionally, mastering the art of Hypnosis does not mean one is qualified as a Hypnotherapist. For more information click here.
Absolutely not. When you are in a Hypnotic state you are in complete control of all your normal faculties and would never do anything that you wouldn't ordinarily be prepare to do. The concept of mind control is a fantasy, and not a particularly believable one at that!
The short answer is yes. That said, the quality and experience of the Hypnotherapist together with the level of trust and rapport between them and the client will have a significant impact on the outcome. Not to mention the motivation of the client themselves.
Since Hypnosis is a natural state of mind, clients are often surprised that they hear some or even all that is said to them. Unless one enters a deeper state, he or she may not "feel" any different than when relaxing in a favourite chair, reading a good book or engrossed in a good film. After hypnosis a client will feel relaxed, rejuvenated, calm and reenergised - ready to meet the demands of the day!
Over the last 12 years we've helped thousands of clients overcome a wide range of psychological, emotional and behavioural issues.
Our results orientated approach is based on modern, rapid and dynamic techniques and because sessions last up to 2 hours, in most cases we can help a client change quickly, i.e. within one to three sessions.
