A fear of public speaking is one of the most common forms of anxiety and for many it can be truly debilitating.
Over the years we’ve heard countless stories of clients who have moved jobs or missed out on promotions or exciting business opportunities just to avoid the trauma of presenting.
But it doesn’t have to be this way – we’ve helped thousands of clients to feel altogether calmer, physically more relaxed and all importantly more confident whenever they choose to present or speak in public.
We do this using a powerful combination of Advanced Clinical Hypnotherapy, Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and traditional coaching protocols.
So rather than having this fear control your career or your life, why not get some help now and ensure that your old public speaking fear that’s had such influence over you, easily and comfortably becomes a thing of the past.
Call today for a free-of-charge confidential consultation or simply fill in the enquiry form below and we will come back to you as soon as possible.
It is important to understand that your fear of public speaking is simply something that you have learnt to do. You were not born with it and it most certainly is not part of your physiological or psychological make up.
For some clients, this learning takes place during their formative years, typically as a result of an uncomfortable rush of adrenalin when for example, they are asked to read in front of a class at school.
As a result of the fear experienced in that moment, the unconscious mind creates an early warning system to protect us. This system is constantly looking for similar circumstances and when recognised, the unconscious tries to protect us through the use of our autonomic nervous system, i.e. our fight and flight response.
For other clients, after years of confident speeches and presentations, the fear and anxiety suddenly starts to develop and quickly takes hold. This can be a truly frightening experience.
Typically this occurs when an individual is extremely stressed and that stress peaks during a meeting or presentation. At that moment the unconscious mind is fooled into believing the problem relates to presenting rather than the build up of stress and anxiety.
Consciously trying to control a fear of public speaking can be extremely difficult and often ends up making matters worse. The is because what we focus on we tend to amplify, so trying to think our way out of fear typically leads to us increasing the symptoms.
Then all too often the unconscious starts to widen the criteria for raising the alarm; thus what starts as a fear of presentations can often morph into a fear of smaller or less formal meetings and one to ones.
We are successful at helping clients to overcome their public speaking anxiety because we work across both the conscious and unconscious parts of the mind.
Through Advanced Clinical Hypnotherapy and Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP), we work with a clients unconscious mind, or more specifically their belief system, memory and imagination.
Using Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and coaching we also work at a rational and logical level.
The combination of the two can be very powerful indeed.
Add a little wisdom based around 35 years of experience helping thousands of clients enjoy positive change and we can help you ensure that all that your unwanted fear of pubic speaking that has had so much control over you, easily comfortably becomes a thing of the past.
For most clients we would look to see them two or three times. Appointments last up to 2 hours and cost £200 per hour.
So after just a few sessions at Therapy Lounge we can help you feel so much calmer and more relaxed leading up to and during speaking in public.
