Care worker hopes to conquer fear of heights with skydive

A care worker from Doncaster is hoping to conquer a life-long fear of heights and take part in a charity skydive, according to local news source The Star.
Dianne Parker, who works for HICA Homecare in Hatfield, admits her phobia is so strong that she feels terrified crossing the Humber and Ouse bridges when she drives around the region.
However, Ms Parker is extremely focused on overcoming anxiety at heights and has vowed to join four of her colleagues in a skydive to raise money for the Alzheimer's Society.
The group of care workers hope to raise more than £1,000 for the charity, and will take part in tandem dives at Lincolnshire's Hibaldstow airfield later this year.
It is not known if Ms Parker plans to take any treatment or hypnotherapy for her phobia prior to the skydive, and she may decide that the best method is to simply face the fear head-on.
Diving in tandem is the best diving solution for people who suffer from a fear of heights. Even though Ms Parker will jump from a height of around 15,000 and fall at speeds of up to 120 mph, an experience instructor will be there to guide and reassure her all the way.
Ms Parker is the only member of the group who has not dived before. Her colleague, Cheryl has already dived twice and is excited about taking to the skies once again.
"I'm looking forward to the adrenaline-fuelled feeling of free falling in the skies once more," she told The Star.
