Hypnotherapy helps Northwich mum recover from emotional toll of cancer treatment

A woman from Northwich has found emotional support in hypnotherapy during her four and a half month battle with cancer and chemotherapy.
Mrs Michelle Lockette appears in the Northwich Guardian after she pledged to join hundreds of other women in a midnight walk to raise money for St Lukes Hospice in Northwich. The mother of two has said that she wants to give something back to the institution that helped her get through four and a half months of intense chemotherapy and a month of radiotherapy by providing her with hypnotherapy treatment.
"I self referred myself to the hospice after I spoke to someone who had breast cancer and was advised by them to have hypnotherapy," she says in the Northwich Guardian. "I couldn't cope with what was happening to me, I needed to get into positive thinking."
Mrs Lockette received a course of hypnotherapy as well as other assistance and support from the hospice, and says she now wants to give something back to the place that helped her through her own time of trouble.
"If I hadn't gone to St Lukes, I would have struggled through the chemo," says Mrs Lockette. "It's that positive mind that gets you through it, I was a lost soul when I first arrived at the hospice."
The walk will go ahead on Saturday the 19th of June this year. Last year it raised £325,000 for the Hospice, funding eight weeks of care such as the hypnotherapy and support that Mrs Lockette received.
