Weight Loss Hypnotherapy

Overeating has become a supper-sized problem.

But consider the following: being overweight is only a problem for two categories of animals on this planet: the most intelligent species of all (that's us!) and the pets we domesticate?

How is it that whilst 40% of UK citizens are now classed as overweight, 99.99% of the other creatures on this planet, providing their food is available, eat as much as they want, whenever they want and are never overweight.

Why is it that other creatures on this earth are not prone to that never ending cycle of over eating and dieting?

The reason for this bizarre phenomenon is very simple - other creatures on this earth have not learnt to eat emotionally.

That's right; the reason why so many people in the western world are overweight is because as a species we have learned to use food as a means to change our feelings.

Indeed, most of our clients' weight problems emanate from the fact that they eat when they are bored, lonely, miserable, stressed, angry or any number of other emotional scenarios, NONE of which have anything to do with physical hunger.

Weight Loss - With video

It a sad fact that as a result of our conditioning from birth, we all have a propensity to bury our feelings in food, but if we eat because of emotional hunger, our bodies will never feel satisfied because no amount of food is going to change the way we feel - indeed ultimately, it will only end up making us feel worse.

Over the past decade or so, using a mix of Advanced Clinical Hypnotherapy, Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) and the principles of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) we’ve helped thousands of clients to change their relationship with food so they enjoy healthier and more natural eating habits and behaviours. enabling them to lose weight, feel in control and ultimately, become the size and shape they desire.

Ultimately, we’ve helped thousands of clients to revert to the way they were originally designed to be.

This approach is obviously very different from the all too frequent diet feast, diet feast, diet feast…..

The truth is that most diets are based on restricting the food intake, or at least an aspect of it. One will limit carbs, another will limit fats, another to the time of day we eat and another……

But that’s exactly where the problem lies - relying solely on restriction these diets do not allow people have a healthy relationship with food - the relationship they were born with.

The diet becomes a constant struggle. So, once we are off the diet we return to our old (habitual) eating habits and behaviours and the next thing we know, all the weight we previously lost is piling back on.

To be precise, studies show that only around 5% of diets are successful in the medium to long term.

The reason why Clinical Hypnotherapy and Neuro Linguistic Programming are scientifically proven to be a genuinely effective long term weight loss solutions is because they change our relationship with food so that instead of feeling denial, we feel great!

Instead of choosing high fat / sugar / salt foods to feel good, we eat healthily and feel great while we do it

Some of us believe that eating healthily would leave us without that comfort. Instead of denying ourselves of this 'feel good factor', at The Therapy Lounge we'll help you to change your relationship with food: in other words, you will feel less desire for unhealthy foods and enjoy life more without them.

Wouldn't that be great? Wouldn’t it be the ideal way to lose weight if you could feel less of the craving for bad foods and more desire to do what’s good for you? Imagine if being healthy was no longer a struggle but a genuine pleasure. It's about what's happening inside our mind that counts, right?

The reason why we’re successful at helping clients to change their relationships with food and ultimately lose weight is because we work across both the conscious and unconscious parts of the mind.

Through Advanced Clinical Hypnotherapy and Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP), we work with a clients unconscious mind, or more specifically their belief system, memory and imagination.

Through the principles of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy we also work at a rational and logical level and the combination of the two can be very powerful indeed.

Add a little wisdom and that most scarce of resources within the therapeutic environment - common sense - and we can help you ensure that all that old relationship with food that had so much control over you, comfortably becomes a thing of the past.

And as part of the process, we will also help you to feel physically more relaxed, mentally calmer and so much more confident within yourself!

For most clients we would look to see them between two and four times - appointments last 2 hours with costs ranging from £185 - £350 per session depending on the therapist they are working with.
