  • What Is Hypnosis?

Hypnosis is a scientifically verified and effective technique that can promote accelerated human change. With Hypnosis, we can create desired changes in behavior and encourage mental and physical well-being.

  • What's Hypnosis versus hypnotherapy?

Hypnotherapy is the use of Hypnosis for self-improvement and/or the release of problems. All Hypnotherapy employs Hypnosis; but not all Hypnosis is Hypnotherapy. Additionally, mastering the art of Hypnosis does not necessarily mean one is qualified as a Hypnotherapist. Contrary to what many might believe, there is more to helping someone overcome an unwanted habit than simply giving Hypnotic suggestions.

  • How does Hypnosis feel?

Since Hypnosis is a natural state of mind, clients are often surprised that they hear every word. Unless one enters a deeper state, he or she may not "feel" any different than when relaxing in a favourite chair reading a good book or engrossed in a good film.

  • Does a Hypnotised person give up control?

Absolutely not. When you are in a Hypnotic state you are in complete control of all your normal faculties and would never do anything that you wouldn't ordinarily be prepare to do.

  • How will I feel directly after Hypnosis?

Great! Relaxed, rejuvenated, cool and calm, reenergised and ready to meet the demands of the day.

  • Can anyone be Hypnotised?

The short answer is yes, however some people find it easier than others to achieve a deep level of Hypnosis.

  • How would I know if I've been Hypnotised?

If you have felt relaxed and have listened to the Hypnotherapist's suggestions, you have been Hypnotised. Some people who reach a deeper level of Hypnosis describe other feelings or sensations including: not hearing the Hypnotherapist's voice; a heaviness in their body; time distortion whereby they feel the session only lasted a few minutes; and muscle catalepsy, where muscles become rigid. All these feelings or sensations cease once the Hypnosis is ended.

How We Work

  • Sessions

We offer all new clients a 30 minute free of charge, no obligation consultation. Therefter all appointments last between 90 minutes and two hours, depending on the therapist and the treatment the client requires.

The number of sessions depends on the issue, or issues, you wish to work on. Smoking cessation for example takes one session only, as do a number of the phobia treatments. For issues such as weight, confidence or addiction, we may wish to see you up to 3 or even 4 times. The proposed treatment plan will be discussd with you during the intial free of charge consultation and your approval will be sought prior to starting.

  • Charges

We have three levels of Therapist available charging between £125 and £300 per 90 mins - 2 hour session. Please refer to the Our Therapists page for further details.

  • Payment For Services

Payment for a session is due at the end of the session. For first appointments for new clients, we do ask for a debit or credit card number and take a £1 pre-authorisation for the session fee. This then falls away after the session has been paid for. Please see below for our 24 hour cancellation policy.

  • Cancellation Policy

Our business is based on charging clients for our time - time that we use to help clients change through the provision of rapid and dynamic therapy. Because we want to ensure we are bright-eyed and bushy-tailed for every single client session, we only see a maximum of 3 clients a day, across 5 days per week. As such, we only have a relatively small number of slots available each week. As you can imagine, we want to ensure that these slots are filled because an unfilled slot quite literally costs us money. So, to help us ensure we can operate in a efficient and effective manner, your booking is subject to a rigid 36 hour cancellation / re-arrangement policy. If we do not receive a minimum of 36 hours notice of a cancelation or re-arrangement, we reserve the right to charge for the appointment in full. If we have taken a pre-authorisation for £1 in advance for a first session, we reserve the right to use these card details to charge via PayPal to take payment. If we have not taken a pre-authorisation, we will raise an invoice and email it accordingly. For Monday appointments, because we do not make calls at the weekends, the deadline for informing us of a change and/ or rearrangement is the preceding Thursday, by midday (1pm). We will always try to avoid charging by filling the slot with another client - indeed usually we manage to fill slots on very short notice - but if we cannot fill the slot we will charge for the session in full.

  • Privacy Policy

No client financial information is stored by The Therapy Lounge. This includes any credit or debit card details. Client email addresses are held solely for the purpose of communicating directly with a client regarding treatment. Email addresses or any other personal information are not passed to any third party or partner for marketing purposes.

  • Guarantees

Sadly we do not offer any guarantees, however at the outset we agree clearly defined goals and discuss the chances of success. Our approach proves remarkably effective with most clients and if you come to us with a real determination to succeed, you'll have an excellent chance of achieving your goal.
